This California native has been obsessed with music of all kinds since he was 5 years old. By the age 14 he discovered his main instrument of choice, the guitar. He learned how to employ style from the likes of Tom Morello, and precision from the late Dimebag Darrell. Although Gillies quickly surpassed his fellow guitar peers of equal age or older, and impressed many at talent shows for high school, he did not start his own band until he moved to Phoenix in 2000. Despite the fact his first band "Arise" did not last, he gained many contacts and friends through playing shows in the local Phoenix scene.
One of these key friendships formed was with current band mate Brian Regalado. It was a friendship based out of a mutual respect that each of these musicians had for each other as performers. It was not until early 2009 that Brian contacted Dave and informed him of a possible spot in an upcoming band for the both of them. Later that summer, Dave, Brain, and Joey met and practice for the first time. It was more than apparent to all three musicians that magic was in the air. Since that day the three have been warming up to tour the release of their debut album. "Stand in my Way".
